today on October 9, 2020 Uganda  is 58 years since independence and recently according to  CNN report by global research company Lancent published last month in September ranked Uganda 10th and the 1st in Africa in combating the Covid-19 virus that has got the whole world on its toes. This could be because of stringent measures that the government put in place to control the spread of the virus in its initial stages when the country registered its first case.

According to Wikipedia, hand sanitisers were first introduced in 1966 in medical settings such as; hospitals and health care facilities and the products popularized in 1990- come in liquid, gel, or form anti-microbial products that have shown effective in killing human disease- causing pathogens example: viruses, bacteria and fungi. Alcohol based sanitisers are more convenient compared to hand washing with soap and water in most situations in the health care setting.

Roperfree Hand Sanitisers come in 2 types:  Aloe Vera & Glycerin moisturizers contain 80% alcohol to kills 99.9 bacteria, germs and viruses without soap and water, high quality product tested and approved by NDA for efficacy test and are safe to use.

Hand sanitisers are faster, more efficient and easier on the skin than repeated hand washing and should be used in absence of soap and water.  As the schools are partial opening for candidate students so it’s recommended to the parents and schools to use sanitizers which have been tested and approved.

Effective hand sanitisers according to the NDA following the WHO guidelines has to be at least 80% alcohol though the parameters before COVID-19 hit were above 60% but the corronavirus which hijacked the whole world by surprise causing loss of life, disrupting the world economy by lock down measures and removing our fundamental rights such as the right of free movement, congregation, equal treatment (for business and shops), schooling for children etc. depriving us one of the most important aspect of our co-existence with one another “ Ubuntu” The pandemic interfered with our fundamental human rights by sending us into isolation mode and some to quarantine in order to survive.
