Fighting against COVID-19 & malaria in Africa has come with the price tag of economic disruptions as COVID-19 brought lockdowns which have swept the whole world. World economies are at the verge of collapsing and many governments have injected in funds to keep afloat their economies and to support citizens to survive.


The World is facing economic hardships during the COVID-19, Roperfree findings that many tenants in Uganda are obliged to pay to their land lords for the months which were not worked during the lockdowns, maybe the matter will need government intervention in regards to financial assistance. It is a blessing that our tenants at Kasumba Square have been waived for the period of lockdown. I wish all landlords could follow suit.

The world is changing either for better or worse,  human interactions of hugging and hand shaking will go for sometime, and no more closeness as it will be the myth of the day because everyone is afraid of catching the COVID-19.  The social gathering will never be the same again!   


The “Ubuntu”  in African settings of togetherness as brotherhood or sisterhood will varnish for sometime. This current pandemic is breaking communities, economies, boundaries and is putting human beings in isolation mode. It is not about material gains but human beings need each other to function properly.
