Uganda’s Discipline & Adherence to COVID-19 Preventative Measures Are Saving Lives Against the Pandemic

By Roperfree

Discipline & adhering COVID-19 preventative measures is saving Uganda from the pandemic.

Uganda is among few countries which still have low cases of COVID-19 and by the time writing this blog the number is 53 minus 4 which recovered to make it 49 and no deaths recorded according to:  https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/

Despite Presidential directives in place to prevent COVID-19 but Ugandans themselves have done a great job for taking them very seriously and practice hygienic methods. It is so amazing that a developing country like Uganda with income per capital $1200 per year with many people work in informal sector earning hand to mouth, despite the lockdown without any income except the food distribution to the most vulnerable but Ugandans have united together to fight the killer virus.

Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi of Buganda too has addressed his subjects on CBS radio about COVID-19 today on April 11, 2020 as he does not want his subjects to contract coronavirus.

Ugandans outside have done a tremendous job in sending WhatsApp audio messages warning in land Ugandans that COVID-19 is real plus one of our favorite internet radio, connect Uganda which is currently running sensitization campaigns 24/7 to fight against COVID-19 to its audience globally.

The ongoing lockdown had created jogging sites in empty roads and highways in and around Kampala which could have triggered the spread of COVID-19 because the practice of social distancing was being compromised so the president made a video demonstrating how they could do physical exercises in their homes

The president went on twitter on Thursday April 9, 2020 and wrote “I discourage people who have been jogging in groups, exposing themselves to risk amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

Uganda has issued several presidential directives aimed at curbing the spread of coronavirus including curfew that started on March 31.

Roperfree encourages its audience to practice kindness, empathy & treat each one with respect and dignity because we are all fighting a challenging battle during the lockdown of COVID-19 we need each other to survive and win the battle.

Please keep on complying COVID-19 measures by staying home & safe plus others in the best interest to fight against the virus in this tough time.
