Bob Wine from Malaria Activists to Politician - Malaria Awareness Campaign Trail, Uganda

By Roperfree

Bob wine’s malaria campaign awareness song with Samalie Matovu. Before he joined politics most of his songs were based on passing messages for noble causes in; social, health & economic reflections by giving hope to the most vulnerable groups in the society.

It is amazing that malaria has been at the forefront in many people’s eyes but the solution was still lacking apart from the mosquito bed nets and with those missing gaps that’s why Roperfree opened its tool box and brought Roperfree mosquito repellents oil, which are taking the world by storm!

Bob Wine Message:
One million children die of malaria
When Bob Wine visited Mulago hospital, he could not believe what he saw, finding the hospital filled with malaria patients and wondered why many people aren’t aware that malaria is a serious deadly disease, and realized that almost one million babies die per year despite the that they can be easily saved from dying of malaria.

Although people are afraid of contacting aids but malaria is more dangerous because it could kill in just 3 days after contracting it, and the most vulnerable are the pregnant mothers and children below five years of age, and when it came to the severity of children he broke down and thought about his young children too.

Bob Wine’s s malaria campaign message is aimed at how could malaria be easily prevented  while seeking solutions from the nurse who advised him to get a mosquito bed net & sleep in it and he further asked in case “I have already contracted malaria”, the nurse recommended to seek for medical care plus taking medications as prescribed in full doze.

Samalie Matovu Message:
On the other hand, mosquitoes can be prevented if proper hygienic sanitary methods are implemented such as; clearing blocked drainages, clearing bushes which are also breeding grounds for mosquitoes which transmit malaria causing symptoms such as; high fever & temperatures throughout body.

Bob Wine Message:
Is wondering what is going on in Africa because of scourges malaria is causing while it can be easily prevented, when people fall sick it burdens them financially, emotionally and socially.
Malaria causes poverty because when people fall sick it means that they cannot work to earn some income and others lose their jobs therefore, causes poverty in the society while it affects children’s academic performance.

We are living in danger and everyone has to be a soldier to fight malaria while encouraging the ghetto youths to take on preventative measures because of high malaria prevalence rate in the slums which destruct them from getting meaningful employment while keeping them broke all the time and end up stuck in poverty cycle.
The song summarizes with a note that malaria is more dangerous than Al-Shabaab & al qaeda combined together!

Roperfree Message:
Malaria has no boundaries everyone is at risk if precautions are not taken.
Malaria does not discriminate; the rich, poor, elderly, youths, children, gender, sex, ethnicity, tribe, religious or political beliefs so everyone should be vigilant.
