Canadian Youths Battle Malaria in "Wakanda"

By Roperfree

Roperfree is a social enterprise formed to fight malaria in Uganda and the rest of Sub-Saharan Africa. Further to that we are battling rheumatism while using organic herbal Aromatherapy essential oils under Roperfree brand name.

Canadian youths namely: Willis, Phyllis and Ellis packed up their bags on January 21, 2020 and went to “Wakanda” to tackle malaria which kills about 100,000 per year especially the children below five years, pregnant mothers and the elderly

The youths joined the battle to fight malaria in order to encourage other Canadian youth by causing awareness that malaria is a world health concern which needs International attention in order to eliminate it up to zero status.

Youths in Uganda are the youngest population in the world, with 77% of its population being under 25 years of age so Canadian youth were able to connect easily due to age similarities.

The malaria campaigns were done in different parts of country such as; Gomba, Butambala, Kibibi in Mpigi District Busega at Kasumba Square in Kampala area Busabala, and ended up in Wakiiso District – Lweza estates on January 30, 2020 afterwards the youth proceeded to Entebbe Zoo and then to Entebbe International Airport to take a plane back home to Canada and currently they are air borne.

During the malaria sensitization campaign communities were sensitized about malaria, offered free resourceful information and 15 ml bottle of Roperfree mosquito repellent oils, the summit’s closing presentation was done by Mona the Operation’s Manager of Roperfree and two television journalists from Bukedde and Delta TV covered the events which will be aired in the news.

Malaria is a global concern and fighting it is not an easy task that is why we encourage all able bodied people to join the struggle by partnering with us. Great news! That the Chairperson of AGOA Exporter’s Association of Uganda and the General Manager of Jakana foods, Meg Jaguay Hilbert is partnering with us in the battle to fighting malaria by showcasing Roperfree Brand Products in the coming events in February 2020 after repeated bouts of malaria in the last six months.
