Namirembe Christian Fellowship in Partnership with Roperfree to Fight Malaria in Uganda

The journey of entrepreneurship has not been so easy as it's full of challenges, but I thank God because our parents, Mr & Mrs. Kasumba, prepared us as a family and our parents were strong Christians and supported many churches in fundraising and making contributions to see that the work of God continues.

4th February 2026 is going to be the second anniversary since our beloved mother Mrs. Kasumba departed and went to heaven. Among the churches she supported, she was a prayer warrior at the Namirembe Christian Fellowship of Pastor Kayiwa located at Namirembe, Kampala City.

Great news that Namirembe Christian Fellowship Church is currently in partnership with Roperfree to fight malaria in Uganda. 

Pastor Fred Kawungenzi, assistant to Pastor Kayiwa of the Christian Fellowship, has been instrumental in collaborating with Roperfree in order to fight malaria in the church, as he has already started conducting a malaria awareness campaign and offering Roperfree mosquito repellents as a solution to deter mosquito bites and malaria transmission among the congregation as some of them attend night prayers, this time they will be fully protected by smearing repellent oils on their exposed skins.

The church has many congregations and the university campus nearby, so embracing Roperfree Insect repellent is a milestone in keeping safe against mosquito bites and malaria transmission. The congregations, students, professors and pastors at the church, basically the whole community will benefit from this partnership.

Malaria is one of the killer diseases in Uganda as it kills more people than any other disease as well as when people fall sick of malaria, miss out on schoolwork, and take care of themselves, which affects the education performance and economic productivity of the country, creating poverty and poor academic qualifications.

Roperfree's Vision to Reality

Roperfree started in the garage of one of our co-founders, Percy, the owner of Roper Fashions .                  Percy one of the co-founders   It was scaled up and relocated to our new modernized premises in Lweza with all amenities suitable for the factory, managed by Mona Kawoya and co-founder too! As we have just ended Xmas a few days without having blizzard winters here in Toronto as the weather was like spring, but across the globe in the Pearl of Africa the weather was good and no major reported incidences during the Xmas festivals. 2018, has been so good for Roperfree with recognitions of our efforts to fight malaria with other organizations in common goals as Roperfree.
