The Pearl of Africa Faces Uphill Battle Against COVID-19, Malaria & Typhoid in the Pandemic

By Roperfree

Uganda often called the “Pearl of Africa is a country beauty by nature with good weather jam-packed breathtaking scenery, natural wonders, exotic wildlife, organic fresh tasty foods, friendly & peace lover plus fascinating culture with the source of one the longest river in the world called River Nile which is presumed to be discovered by speke but that theory has always been disputed by the Basoga who knew the source of River Nile before Speak came to Uganda.

Uganda is battling against COVID-19, malaria and typhoid, but malaria and typhoid is surging the cases of COVID-19 and compound to that, it is a rainy season which favors faster disease transmission.

While I was writing this blog I received information about 10 persons (friends, relatives, Roperfree clients) who are down with malaria, typhoid or COVID-19. Some are in hospital in critical condition so anyone who happens to read this blog should check on their friends, relatives, and co-workers to find out whether they are safe but the good news is, all diseases can be prevented:

Malaria Prevention:

Ø Determine your level of risk an infection- malaria prophylaxis depends on your knowledge

Ø Stay in well screened areas at night and always LLIN bed nets

Ø Use Roperfree Mosquito Repellent especially during the evening and nighttime hours

Ø Go for long sleeves: Wear long sleeves shirts & trousers in the evening and at night

Ø Be with Insect repellent in your first aid tool (Roperfree Mosquito Repellent)

Ø Sunscreen comes first- repellent second- the good news is that Roperfree Mosquito Repellent is versatile product can do both as sunscreen and repellent too

Ø For travelers check the malaria risks- Get  an ant malarial

    Typhoid Prevention:

Ø Wash your hands frequently with soap and water but in absence of  water  & soap use hand sanitisers such as; Roperfree hand sanitiser

Ø Avoid drinking untreated or unboiled water

Ø Avoid raw fruits and vegetables and choose hot foods

To prevent the spread of COVID-19:

Ø Clean your hands often, use soap and water or an alcohol based sanitisers 80% such as; Roperfree hand sanitiser

Ø Maintain a safe distance from anyone: Social distancing of at least 2 meters if possible

Ø Wear a face mask when physical distancing is not possible

Ø Don’t touch your mouth, eyes and nose

Ø Cover your nose and mouth with your bent elbow or tissue when you cough or sneeze

Ø Stay home if you feel unwell.

Ø If you have a fever, cough and difficulty in breathing, seek medical attention

Face masks can help prevent the spread of the virus from the person wearing the mask to others. Masks alone do not protect against COVID-19 and should be combined with physical distancing and hand hygiene. Follow the advice provided by your local health authority and mind you life once lost its irreplaceable and it’s the most precious thing on the planet.

We should be kind to one another to make this world a better place to live in, Matthew: 25:36 which says that when I was naked you clothed me, when I was sick you visited me and I was in prison you visited me. Many countries/cities have gone back to lockdowns and as Monday November 23, 2020 Toronto hit lockdown for good 28 days.

The onus is on us a world community to treat each other with respect and dignity plus to live in harmony while supporting each other in this tough time of the pandemic and we should be united to fight the common enemy: COVID-19, malaria and other diseases threatening human existence and therefore, we should not be divided based on racial, ethnical, tribal, political, religious differences plus income & social class because we all need each other to survive.
