An Exclusive Distributor Assigned To Fight Malaria in Western Uganda
The demand for mosquito repellants has sky rocked due to the high malaria density in the Northern & Western Districts of Uganda whereas there’s no viable solution apart from the mosquito bed-nets.
The rise of malaria prevalence in the Northern and Western region could have been attributed to the imported cases of malaria by migrants from other countries such as; DRC- Congo & South Sudan, weather conditions, environment, mosquitoes change of behavior such as; collecting the blood meal during the day time instead of the night time plus lack of monitoring and surveillance health teams due to the high cost plus COVID-19 took a lot of attention which caused negative impact on malaria sensitization campaigns and diversion of funds.
In the Western Uganda, Roperfree assigned an exclusive distributorship to Sumo Repellents to expand the battle against malaria in Uganda. Malaria is public health concern, as it kills more people in the country than any other diseases. Sumo Repellents is serving the people of Western Uganda to fight against malaria by providing intervention tools and resourceful information to save lives in territories of Kigezi, Ankore, Bunyoro & Toro. During the radio show on March 9, 2022 many target audience were on air & the existing acquired customers, one of the listener/customer from Bigando called in to say thank you to Sumo Repellent crews for bringing the repellents to the area and she further said that the repellents “worked magic”.Roperfree has managed to scale up with its malaria sensitization campaigns and because of its intervention tools to fight against malaria, rheumatism and COVID-19, run by trained professional team with good work experience in malaria control management backed by career development with two of the founders recently completed an online Public Health Course majoring in Malaria Control & Eradication at Harvard University.
