The Global Resetting is Causing Businesses & Education to switch online

By Roperfree

The Global Resetting is causing businesses & education to switch online. Early February 2021, MTN Uganda launched its first fiber-to the- home (FITH) unlimited internet service for home users, adding to its existing range of business fiber services as the pandemic is causing the world to reset .

Internet is penetrating faster in many parts of Africa, including Uganda and it is making a positive impact in communication, delivery and e-money transfer services, plus increased shopping online and education. The world switched from analog to digital and MTN fiber access is now available to selected areas of Kampala and other main cities, the expansion of unlimited Internet accessed by home owners will make it easier for those working online from home, and also will increase e-commerce platforms such as; Roperfree, Maridadi Crafts, Jumia online store, Kangaroos etc. which will benefit more plus easy access to students studying online from many prestigious universities worldwide

Roperfree a social enterprise has already signed up contract with MTN for the new service of unlimited fiber internet and the whole package cost per month UGX 179,000(US$48.34) with 40Mbps with one time set up free of UGX 100,000 however, we are looking forward to increasing our business and serve better our customers in Uganda and globally.

Roperfree’s partnership with Maridadi Crafts to harness services to our customers, Maridadi Crafts is best known for the good quality fine crafts in Uganda and it is one of the best stop over as ultimate gift store in downtown Kampala.

Maridadi Crafts has variety of handcrafted sculptures from clay, paper, plaster, steel, glass, iron and wood and currently the available of organic all Natural essential oils & sanitizers to fight against malaria, rheumatism and COVID-19, and soon Maridadi Crafts will unveil customized products from Roperfree.

Roperfree sister company under the name of jkm Vacation Rental Accommodations is also going to benefit from MTN unlimited fiber Internet because most of our guests are from overseas and they use e-transfers to make payments plus other online business activities while staying connected with their families from home countries so now they will not worry about the Internet anymore and the hustle of going around searching for Ugandan sim cards is over!, registration, etc.. which could be very cumbersome and frustrating so our quests will be comfortable enjoying free WI-FI while having access to Netflix and other online television channels across the globe, currently we have sought ROKU gadgets to enable the implementation and the idea was brought about by one of the directors Ms. Phyllis Nakayiza Kasumba which we embraced instantly & unanimously.

At the moment, Roperfree is in discussion with ROKU Company to see whether they could bring their services to Uganda so that Ugandans and people from abroad could enjoy streaming online television  channels such as; Netflix, Amazon.etc.
