COVID-19 Lockdowns are Transforming Lives in Africa

By Roperfree

The lock-downs are  transforming our lives but are they for better or worse? Survey done by Roperfree via variety of social media platforms, friends and families including the feeds from the news, a lot of spiritual transformations and sense of human kind are sinking in.

Humanity, love, compassionate, empathy, kindness have surpassed individualism & capitalism in the sense that we are all the same rich, poor, young or adult as we all cherish life & good health!

The aftermath of lock-downs will come with a lot of challenges and benefits but one will outweigh.

The aftermath will make Africa either weaker or stronger than before and innovations can sphere the continent to take on China. Africa was predicated by the WHO and some news agencies that once COVID 19 hit the continent, will sweep it with catastrophes. While underestimating the readiness of the African countries as knew that they have weak health system, few doctors and lack of medical facilities. Africa had to become the gate keeper of COVID-19 than allowing the common enemy to enter freely as it did in the western countries.

Africa has been in the forefront of many disease devastation such as; malaria, Ebola, Aids, yellow fever, cholera etc..and she fought these battles with a different strategy.

Africa should not have been underestimated because civilization started in there and the first university was founded by a woman called Fatima Bint Muhammad in Morocco 895 CE

         Fatima Bint Muhammad

Apart from the Washington post of America but most media in the western countries have played a low key to highlight the effort Africa is making to beat COVID-19, maybe they would have borrowed a leaf that money by itself without collective effort from the masses can’t win the pandemic. The government, societies, communities and local governments have to unite in order to defeat the common enemy as it is being done in Africa.

Africa is the richest continent in the world in regards to its resources and this could be confirmed by having had the richest person in history called Mansa Musa 1 of Mali who lived in 1280 with an estimate value of $400 billion.

     Mansa Musa

Currently, the richest man is Jeff Bezos the founder of Amazon with net worth of $138.2, then Bill Gates $98 billion the third; Bernard Arnault & family$76, the fourth is Warren Buffett $67.5.

CEO & Founder, Amazon, Jeff Bezos

Now the ball is in the hands of Africa, either to move on with the system of seriousness in its transformation or to step back and lag behind as it has been the case, and wait for saviors to tackle our problems. As Roperfree we are doing our part by providing solution to fight malaria, now it's left to African governments and societies must invest in their own so that we can make a serious impact in fighting against malaria & saving lives and also continue to invest in local capacities to support healthcare needs as they are currently doing by supporting local businesses to produce hand sanitizers, masks & other personal protective equipment(PPE'S)

Africa is capable of rebuilding its past glory by focusing on solutions from within rather than from outside. As Roperfree we are determined to play our part in rebuilding Africa to become self sufficient & prosper just like in the days of Fatima & Mansa Musa.
