Africa’s Strategic Success in Fighting Against COVID-19
By Roperfree
Africa, mentioning Uganda in general has achieved
tremendous success in containing COVID-19, in the last 27 days Uganda has had 2
domestic cases and the majority where imported from the truck drivers according
to the ministry of health.
Minister of Health, Jane Aceng at the border post sensitizing the truck drivers COVID-19. May 15, 2020
Uganda is a role model to the rest of the world due
to the way it has handled COVID-19 with low cases and no deaths recorded
related to the virus whereas Tanzania it is a different matter & cases are
rising.
Uganda’s strategy is very simple according to the
president of Uganda when he was interviewed recently on NBS TV by Canary
Tugume, he emphasized that the society and the people have been at the
forefront in the battle to fight against COVID-19.
The characteristic of diseases are normally studied
before implementation on how it could be best handled and same strategy has
been used with the previous epidemics like; Aids, Ebola, malaria.
According to the survey done by Roperfree, Ugandan
President is putting human lives first than the economy of the nation unlike
some leaders who have been putting their economies first than saving human
lives and it is costing them heavily in terms of losing human resources.
While Africa has some of the World’s weakest health
system but it is beating COVID-19 than countries with strong health system,
experts have been warning that Africa would be overwhelmed by the virus but
that has not been the case.
Africa is struggling to beat the virus at its head
before it enters in the community and that is the strategy it is taking despite
the scarce of medical equipment, including the badly needed testing kits and
personal protective equipment (PPE).
Some African nations are turning into manufacturing,
much needed equipment themselves, development which could speed up
industrialization on the continent that has been long overdue because much of
its medicines and other health items are imported from abroad.
Roperfree is already manufacturing mosquito repellent
oils from within Africa rather than importing from abroad and, it has been
proved by the British military that using mosquito/insect repellent could add
extra layer of protection against COVID-19 and so far they are being
distributed to the front-line military personnel fighting against the
coronavirus.
More companies are trying to get into the mask-making business, as hospitals and public officials scrounge for protective gear for medical workers confronting the coronavirus pandemic.
Malaria is endemic in many African countries, and as many as 400, 000 people died of it globally in 2018 according to WHO so Roperfree is providing solution while saving lives so get our products now from the following e-commerce platforms & outlets in & around Kampala:
