Organic Sub-Saharan Products Selling Like Hotcakes In The USA

By Roperfree

AGOA expo ended well in Kampala on May 15, 2019 & many AGOA registered sellers exhibited the products and Hon. Rebecca Kadaga the speaker of the Ugandan parliament was the main host & graced the occasion, happened to visit our stall. Mrs. Susan Muhwezi the presidential adviser invited her after the previous day chatting with the co-founder & the operation’s manager; Mona.

Mrs. Susan Muhwezi Presidential adviser on AGOA

The presidential adviser of AGOA having been so much impressed with the Roperfree Brand Products due to noticing the extra ordinary customer care, packaging, product merchandising and setting of the display table compound with product knowledge presented by Roperfree staffs during the exhibition.

Many of our customers were surprised to know that Roperfree Brand Products are truly Ugandan products as most of them thought that they are from abroad.

Many Ugandan produce good products but when it comes to finishing and packaging then they do substandard work which cannot compete with products from abroad.

Hon. Kadaga visited our stall while accompanied with Mrs. Susan Muhwezi & Ms. Meg the chief of AGOA exporters in Uganda who guided her to our station, reaching at Roperfree stall Hon. Rebecca Kadaga was so much impressed with Roperfree Brand Products and encouraged us by saying that “these are the type of products we want in the country because they are organic, All-Natural and saves lives”.

As AGOA was almost ending for the last day on May 15, 2019 Meg the Chief Executive Officer of AGOA exporters brought Hon. Ssebunya Member of Parliament who was so impressed and enticed to buy Roperfree Brand Products for his family.

A doctor visited our stall and wondered “why such life saving products cannot be embraced by the Ministry of Health to fight malaria in Uganda as the treated mosquito bed nets are not sufficient  enough & could not understand why the cannot support our home products which make positive impact to the people while growing the home industry to stimulate the economy”.

Another company on the spot in Uganda AGOA exporter is Jacana foods which are dealing in organic foods and drinks, organic food have a big market in the western world as people are switching on them to avoid too much intake of chemicals which could cause cancer.  A lot of jobs have been created through chain of production from the farmers up to point of sale in the supermarkets. I came to understand while writing this blog that Meg, the chief executive officer of AGOA Uganda has shares in this company. Meg worked so hard in the 11th hour to see that Roperfree doesn’t miss out on the AGOA expo, according to my experience while dealing with her she is very good communicator and she is a doer who wants things to be done right away.

Among the other products which are being sold to the USA under AGOA are the ones of Leila Janah founder of LXMI shear butter from the northern Uganda. Leila is very well known to Roperfree as we have been invited several times to attend her business seminars & speeches in the USA.
Leila Janah CEO & Founder of LXMI from Uganda/USA

Leila while working with Samasource in Uganda stumbled upon a unique skincare panacea at a local market. It was Nilotica, a rare form of shear butter that exists exclusively in Northern Uganda, South Sudan, and some parts of Ethiopia. Leila was astounded by the rare butter’s ability to transform her moisture-deprived, overly-traveled skin from lackluster to luminous. Once she learned that she could help marginalized Sub-Saharan women find dignified work through the harvesting production and exportation of  Nilotica, she changed her life by sharing her new skincare secret with the world and more than one thousand women in the Northern Uganda have been empowered with employment she created under her organic beauty company LXMI

Sseko Designs is another AGOA blockbuster!, an American fashion accessory brand operating in Uganda is empowering the women with employment and college education

Operating from the Kyebando area in Kampala, Uganda, According the their website Sseko hires high potential women in Uganda to make sandals to enable them to earn money through dignified employment that will go directly towards their college educations and ensure they will continue pursuing their dreams.”

In addition to creating sandals, the women also craft scarves, leather bags, and hand-dyes totes, among other items. According to the the International Fund For Agricultural Development Sseko brand comes at a time when Ugandan women often have limited resources and very little control over what they produce.

Other companies which have success story in regards to AGOA markets in the USA and were present are Tooro Gallery, Gorilla Conservation Coffee, WEND & Endiro coffee which have started opening up branches following suit like; Starbucks or Coffee-Time in the USA.
