Crimean-Congo Haemorrhagic Fever & Severe Storms Hit Parts of Uganda

 Published by Ropperfree

New year started with mild Tsunami as Kampala was affected by big storm yesterday on Friday January 4, 2018 as it left most of power lines, trees and billboards broken down destroying lives and properties whereas the malaria campaigns is on high gear! Uganda under Ministry of Health has confirmed cases in Masindi, crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever (CCHF) is a widespread disease caused by a tick-borne virus (Nairovirus) of the Bunyaviridae family. The CCHF virus causes severe viral haemorrhagic fever outbreaks and one person was confirmed dead but the situation is under control. The disease could be easily contained by use of Roperfree Mosquito/insect repellant is good for repelling ticks as to prevent transmission of the disease.

As Millions of people continue to suffer from malaria every year globally, although there has been significant progress in scaling up access to bed nets, anti-malarias, and other preventative measures like repellents, malaria stills claims the lives of over 400,000 people in the world’s poorest countries every year.

Around 90% of estimated deaths from malaria happen in sub-Saharan Africa, which Uganda is among; many of them are young children below the age of five.
To address this, the World Health Organization has set a target to cut malaria cases and deaths by at least 90% by 2020. Malaria should be taken serious because it causes death, poverty and retarded economies.

Roperfree in commemoration of Yokana Mukasa’s Contribution to Fight Malaria:

What is going happen Sunday December 6, 2018 is the commemoration of Yokana Mukasa family tree at Busega, maternal grandfather, a Saaza chief in Buganda under King Freddie as the British used to call him or Sir Edward Muteesa and during his tenure as a chief he worked so hard and improved communities in hygiene, law and healthcare, he fought endless battles to fight malaria which caused a positive impact to the society.

Yokana Mukasa’s  siblings died of measles and was the only child left and it's believed that his mother was of Ethiopian/Somali origins, so he grew up a bold man and worked his way up to become a chief and friend of Kabaka Muteesa as sometimes they used to go hurting together, some of my uncles grew up in Palace of Mengo and attended school there. When Yokana Mukasa retired he kept in touch with the late Sir Edward Muteesa who was the Kabaka of Buganda and the first President of Uganda until Obote invaded the king’s palace at Mengo giving orders to Amin to attack the palace.
